South of the River Sub-Area Plan

The City of Star has been conducting a planning effort for a unique, community-driven, space that we are calling the “South of the River Sub-Area”. Implementation of this plan will likely take decades, as the current landowners have no plans to sell their land, but with the exponential growth happening in our city, and the rate at which farmland is being sold and developed, we are taking a proactive approach by setting goals for this area before that happens. 

Earlier this year, The City of Star completed a series of roundtables with property owners, city residents, transportation agencies, and others to review preliminary concepts and ideas for the South of the River Subarea. These roundtables were used to help refine two early, preliminary concepts for the area. More recently, the City of Star hosted a series of public open houses in April to review background information, concepts, big ideas, and character preference for the South of the River Sub-Area Plan.
