Welcome
to Star, Idaho. We are a small town located about 20 miles west of
Boise. Our community offers a pleasant atmosphere and we are close to
many of the recreational opportunities that Idaho has to offer. Star
offers a lifestyle that is still within reach, a four seasons climate
and a very low crime rate. Because of this, many have found Star to be
the community of choice to raise their children. It isn’t uncommon in
Star to see local children walking down to the river with their fishing
poles in hand.
Like much of the Treasure Valley, Star has grown over the last few years. The current population is about 5500 and this recent growth has provided the residents with an increase in services. More businesses have opened, allowing residents the opportunity to shop locally for goods and services.
Home to the Mule Days Fair in early June every year, Star hosts several events for the weekend and a wonderful hometown parade. During the course of the year, there are several events hosted by the Chamber of Commerce for families in the area. In the summer months, free outdoor movies are shown at the fairgrounds. During the holidays, the Star Lions Club decorates the city and the residents gather for an old-fashioned tree lighting at City Hall.
Star is a town where residents know and care about their neighbors and I am proud to be the Mayor of this great community.
