11:44 a.m. EMERGENCY ALERT ISSUED
"Gas leak with explosion at Purple Sage and Duff Lane. If you are within 4 miles, shelter in place. Children can be picked up from school. Please avoid calling 911 unless emergency services is needed."

11:35 a.m. UPDATE - Evacuation has been changed to shelter in place. Roads are still closed. Please avoid the area.  The gas line has been shut off.

A gas line explosion has occurred near Purple Sage & Duff Lane in Middleton. Emergency units are on scene and keeping us informed.  All roads surrounding the area are closed, including a section of Highway 44. We have been advised that homes are being evacuated within a two-mile radius.  Please avoid the area.  We will post any updates on this page and our website.
