The City of Star has entered into a collaboration with the Idaho Humane Society (IHS) to fortify animal welfare and enforcement services within the community. This alliance aims to uphold responsible pet ownership and ensure the safety and welfare of animals within Star's municipal boundaries.
Under the terms of the agreement, IHS will function as the Animal Control Agency, responsible for overseeing animal enforcement services in both public and private areas within Star. The partnership will adhere strictly to federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing animal welfare.
Residents can expect comprehensive services available seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., catering to various animal-related concerns. IHS will promptly respond to calls for animal enforcement, compile detailed reports, and gather necessary evidence for potential legal actions.
For emergency services, operating 24/7, IHS will address critical situations such as injured or aggressive animals, cases of animal cruelty, and scenarios posing threats to public safety. Services will encompass handling trapped animals, animal bites, and other urgent incidents affecting the community.
In an effort to promote responsible animal ownership, IHS plans to conduct humane education classes and also aims to encourage compliance with dog licensing ordinances and advocate for the benefits of spaying and neutering pets.
Residents seeking assistance after regular business hours can utilize the Ada County non-emergency dispatch number at 208-377-6790 for support.
The collaboration between the City of Star and the Idaho Humane Society marks a concerted effort to create a safer and more humane environment for the community's pets.
