City of Star 25th Anniversary Challenge Coins

Coins

Limited Edition challenge coins available for the City of Star's 25th Anniversary.

The City of Star was incorporated for the second time on December 10, 1997. The date was commemorated by the Idaho State Legislature with the issuance of Senate Joint Proclamation No. 101 which reads in part:

"As poets have honored the beauty of the stars in the galaxy, the Idaho legislature honors it’s very own Star. While it only twinkles in size to many other Idaho cities, its residents have an inner warmth of goodness, friendliness and community spirit. We are confident these qualities will shine forth like diamonds in the sky, as the new City of Star takes his place as one of Idaho's shining examples of good and wise municipal government."

These words continue to ring true as we celebrate Star's 25th year as a city.  Star remains a beacon of goodness, friendliness and community spirit that draws people from all over the U.S. in search of a place to call home.  To commemorate this special anniversary, the city has issued City of Star Official Challenge Coins.  Proceeds from the sale of the coins goes to the Mayor's Youth Scholarship Fund.  Every year, the fund awards nearly $25,000 in scholarships to Star senior high school students to attend a secondary education program, including trades schools.

The front of the coin is the City of Star seal, the back of the coin reads, "25th Anniversary, December 10, 2022 - We the People of the United States of America - Mayor Trevor A. Chadwick".  The coins are 2" in diameter.
