Star Police vs Fire - Volleyball Matchup

Star police officers have challenged our fire department to a volleyball match!
The showdown will take place in the Star Middle School gymnasium on Friday, August 19th. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., game starts at 7:00 p.m.
But the competition starts even before the match! Buy your tickets from Team Blue or Team Red and show your support by sitting on their side of the gymnasium. All proceeds from the sale of tickets and merchandise will go towards sports and camp scholarships for Star kids.
Event highlights:
- Star Recreation Cheer Squad
We've divided the squad into Team Blue and Team Red and decked them out in festive cheer gear to get the crowd on their feet. - Half time entertainment featuring kids competitions and prizes
Annie Pew from the Star Recreation Department, creator of our popular summer Baking Classes, Reptile Week, and Science Camps, is putting together a fun halftime program. Annie really knows how to throw a party! Kids will be divided into age groups and race to see who can don Police and Fire gear the fastest to win prizes provided by Steve's Auto Care. - Color commentary from City of Star's Ryan Field
We know him at City Hall as our Asst. City Planner and Code Enforcement Officer, but who knew he could emcee like Jim Nantz. We saw him announce the Hometown Celebration Parade and asked him back for more! - Limited edition commemorative tees for sale
Ada County Sheriff's Deputy Beardall moonlights as a super talented artist! He has designed a limited edition commemorative tee that will be for sale at the event. When they're gone, they're gone. - Concession stand
Volunteers will be selling game snacks and drinks. - Presentation of G.O.A.T. trophy to the winning team by Mayor Chadwick
The winning team will get to keep the trophy at their station until the next challenge. Comes with bragging rights. - Pre-sale tickets $1 - $2 at the door - Donations welcome!
All money raised or donated will go towards a new scholarship fund that will benefit Star kids that want to participate in sports or camps, but may not have the means to do so. If you are interested in having your child participate in the scholarship program, please email apew@staridaho.org
Special THANK YOU to Detective Turner and Deputy Henderson of Star PD for being the driving force behind this event and their desire to help our Star kids.
