2024 Hometown Celebration Parade - Registration is now CLOSED
The parade registration window is now CLOSED. No "Day of" entries will be permitted.
NEW ROUTE FOR 2024!
Check-in for the parade begins at 9:00 a.m. in front of El Mariachi Loco. The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. and travels west, turns right on Star Road and will continue to West Blake Drive. Cash prizes awarded for best entries. Parade route will be closed to through traffic during the approximately one hour parade. Please plan travel accordingly. $25 per float or group to enter.
- Parade lineup begins at 9:00 a.m. Check-in at the El Mariachi Loco parking lot (9966 W. State Street, Star), sign your parade waiver, and go to your line-up location.
- Floats will line up along Seneca Springs Way, in order of arrival.
- Cars, golf carts, etc will line up in Estrella Plaza (the strip mall locals affectionately call “Toon Town”).
- Horses will stage in the Les Schwab parking lot.
The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. sharp. A parade director will stand in the middle of State & Seneca Springs directing the flow of entries on to the route. You will have a volunteer in each group section helping you to line up and enter the route when its your turn.
Car groups will enter the parade side by side in twos, and are limited to 40 cars per group
Due to the size of the crowd expected, parade participants are not permitted to throw candy or any other items from their floats, horses, or vehicles. Any give-away items much be handed to, or tossed over the heads of spectators by walkers walking along side your entry. Candy landing in the street is too tempting for small children to run into the pathway of a vehicle. PARADE ENTRIES ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO SUPPLY CANDY
Entries are expected to be decorated in a patriotic or other manner appropriate for the celebration of the birth of our nation.
