Star's of the Past: An Oral History Exhibit

Join us on an exciting trip into the past as the City of Star’s Historical Committee invites the public to come and explore their new exhibition, which shines a light on the vivid oral histories of 15 early citizens of Star. The event will be hosted at Star City Hall on October 11th at 7 p.m.
The inception of Star's Historical Committee oral history project dates back a year ago. Recognizing that the invaluable tales of some of Star's early citizens were fading with time, the committee embarked on a mission to preserve and share these stories. Their dedication culminated in a collaborative effort with historian Dean Hagerman to interview 15 remarkable citizens, handpicked by both the townsfolk and the City of Star. Brandan Fisher, of FisherDawg Productions, expertly captured these interviews on video, together with his skilled team. A poignant 15-minute video, featuring highlights of these oral histories, will be unveiled during the exhibition. Additionally, a specially acquired kiosk will be available for the public to peruse these oral histories at their leisure.
During the event, Mayor Chadwick will personally introduce the seniors who graciously shared their stories and thank them for their invaluable contributions to this important project. We cordially invite you to join us as we celebrate Star's rich past through the eyes and memories of some of its longest-standing residents.
Notably, among those whose memories were documented are Marq Ross, Betha Foster, Jayne Raynor, Jack Kirtley, and Del Stevens, who have been an enduring part of Star's history.
Don't miss this opportunity to connect with Star's history and the people who have shaped it.
