Freedom Park (Future)
Freedom Park is just north of the Boise River, south of Heron River and directly east and adjacent to the Star Riverhouse. When completed this will connect with the Star Riverwalk and Riverhouse making it one of the largest recreational areas in the city at just over 82 acres. The area will feature natural landscapes, two large ponds stocked with fish. The west pond includes a floating dock, affectionately known as Dockzilla, and shade structure allowing easy access for kayaks and paddle boards to enjoy the water.
- As with all parks in the City of Star, the hours of Freedom Park are sunrise to sunset.
- No Alcohol - no exceptions.
- No loud music that violates the city's noise ordinance.
- Pick up after yourselves - use the trash cans.
- A bank of porta potties are at the Riverhouse entrance to the park - use them.
- Be courteous to your fellow park visitors. Parents do not need their children hearing profanity.
- No jumping off the shade structure.
- No public access to the ponds from Heron River subdivision - use the parking lots at 960 S. Main Street and Riverwalk Park.
- No trespassing on the private docks on the north sides of the ponds.
- No trespassing on any of the neighboring properties.
- No fires, BBQs, or smoking anywhere in the park, including on the dock. Heat damages the dock material. Freedom Park is still under construction. When the park officially opens, there will be designated picnic areas with BBQs that can be reserved.
- No motorized vehicles of any kind are permitted in the park or on the pathways. This includes golf carts, UTV's, and dirt bikes. Bicycles and e-bikes are permitted, but speeds must remain under 10 MPH and pedestrians have the right of way.
Anyone violating any of these rules or the posted rules and restrictions will be ejected from the park by law enforcement and trespassed.
