At the December 17th Council Meeting, the City of Star approved the Star Pathway Master Plan, developed in partnership with Kimley-Horn and Logan Simpson Design. This plan has been over a year in the making, drawing on Master Plan contributions from the Pathways & Transportation Committee, Mayor Chadwick, Councilmember Salmonsen, City staff, and local residents.
In addition to outlining the future of Star's pathway network, the plan includes both a Maintenance Plan and a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to guide implementation and ongoing upkeep. Public input played a key role in shaping priorities and features-surveys were made available for residents to share what mattered most to them, and the plan reflects those valuable insights.
The introduction underscores the importance of diversifying revenue sources and forming equitable partnerships to build and maintain a robust trail system. Many of the recommended policies and management practices are already in place or under consideration. As the pathways expand, the City will continue to refine its funding strategies and use data-driven decisions to benefit our growing community.
We invite you to view the approved plan below where you'll find survey results, maps of the proposed pathways, recommended materials, and next steps toward turning this vision into reality. We look forward to seeing this plan come to fruition, support healthy lifestyles, and create stronger connections throughout Star for years to come.
